GAEL USS MEET SIGN UP PROCEDURE
For every USS meet that we attend, there will be a sign up sheet provided on the bulletin boards.
Each meet announcement will outline the dates, times and events offered.
Along with each announcement, there will be a sheet detailing the number of events a swimmer can participate in per session as well as a sign-up deadline.
Below these announcements each swimmers name will appear with the events that are offered to him or her.
To be entered into the meet, a swimmer should simply circle the events desired.
If a swimmer cannot sign-up at the pool he or she can be entered into a meet by emailing coach Dorsey at Bdorsey@gaelac.com by the deadline.
All meet announcements can also be found on the Metropolitan website (www.metroswimming.org). Once at the website, click on calendar and toggle down to the meet announcement you are looking for.
Our sign-up deadline will be earlier than the ones given on the meet announcements in order to insure that we get into each meet. No entries will be accepted after our deadlines and the final entry is sent out.
Please make sure to check your calendars before signing up for these meets. Where we do understand the unforeseen conflict arising, once our entry is sent out all events are paid for. In the past, we have had quite a few swimmers scratching from events after signing up. Along with the entry fees being wasted these scratches also affected such things as car pools and relays.
We also ask that swimmers show up to these meets 10 to 15 minutes before the warm-up times. Every meet has a scratch procedure and if a swimmer is not at the meet prior to scratches being entered he or she will not be able to swim in that session.
Lastly, as it is still very early in the season, we may be missing a few names in our Team manager database. If a name is missing from the sign-up sheets, please inform coach Dorsey ASAP. Most likely we still need a birth date or something to that regard. We apologize in advance for any names we may have missed.
Thanks
and happy swimming,
The
Gael Coaches
We are still looking for swimmers to join us at Great Adventure this Sunday!
GAEL AQUATIC CLUB
3RD ANNUAL
“KICK OFF THE SEASON”

AM MEETING AT IONA COLLEGE

PM RETURN TO IONA COLLEGE
All swimmers interested in joining us at Great Adventure next Sunday, September 27th must contact coach Dorsey by Thursday evening, September 22nd. You can do so by calling 632-5913 or emailing at bdorsey@gaelac.com
All 12 & under attendees must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Of course, multiple children can be accounted for by the same chaperone, but that information must be provided when reserving a spot with coach Dorsey.
All 13 & over swimmers are free to join us without a chaperone, but parental compliance and a contact number must be provided with each reservation.
We will be traveling by bus, which allows for a maximum of 35 seats. The bus will cost us $300, so we are asking that everyone who travels with us bring $10 to cover the cost plus tip.
Of course, if any one wishes to join us but drive on their own, you can car pool there and meet us at the front entrance. All car loads driving on their own should still contact coach Dorsey and provide a cell phone number in case we get split up so that we can call prior to entering the park.
As for the park entrance fee there a several deals through Coke, Dunkin Donuts and other companies. As the total number of people attending the trip is finalized, coach Dorsey will be contacting everyone with a final price for the day.
Any one who has extra coupons or cans, please indicate as such when reserving a spot.
