Dear Gael Parents:

In order to make sure that we get accepted to the Asphalt Green Season Starter meet on October 16 and 17, all sign-ups must be finalized by Sunday, October 3rd.

We have a sign-up sheet with all swimmers at poolside on the cork board or you can look at on the AGUA website at http://www.metroswimming.org/Results/2004/AGUA10/AGUA10.pdf  to check events and then sign-up by e-mailing

Having attended this meet for the past several years, we have decided to offer this meet to only 9 and over swimmers.. The meet is run in two pools at the same time and many of our 8 and under swimmers were overwhelmed with no where to sit and two separate horns going off at the same time. We felt this was surely not the type of atmosphere that would encourage swimmers and parents of this age group to join us for future meets of a more enjoyable nature.

There may be a meet opportunity just for 8 and under swimmers in Staten Island the same day, Sunday October 17th. We are currently speaking with the coach running the meet and if it is available, details will be shared with all very soon.

We’re sorry for such a rush with this meet entry, but we just entered all of the new swimmers into our database and the first few sign-ups are very difficult because there is not enough time to get the team together in order to make the deadlines. In the future, we will have a much longer sign-up period for such meets.
